Woodruff opens Pocket Park at the Landings

Woodruff is excited about the completion of the first "Pocket Park" in The Landings Shopping Center for the community to enjoy.

The Landings has traded in concrete for synthetic grass, creating beautiful year-around spaces known as pocket parks; encouraging families to slow down and enjoy being together.

The first such "pocket park" or green space has been named "The Landing Pad" and replaces a once crumbling parking lot with some fun-filled activities! Complete with mini-golf, four-square, tire swing, and a caddy shack, The Landing Pad is bringing family and friends together for a new kind of fun.

The Landings has taken the beautification concept one step further by adding an element of whimsical fun for "kids" of all ages. The curvy fence and oversized rocking chair are just a few of the "Dr.Suess-meets-Disney World mini-theme park" elements.

"There is plenty of seating where parents can lounge while kids play, but we see a lot of grown-ups playing just as hard as the kids. The space inspires parents to get active with their kids and create priceless moments together," says Christy Murphy, Sweet Frog owner.

The new Pocket Park is located in the lower level of The Landings Shopping Center on Airport Thruway and Whitesville Rd; off Exit 8 of I-185; between Fuddruckers and Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt Cafe.

In an effort to support the Green initiative, Woodruff is dedicated to creating more green spaces in Columbus, Georgia.

Come and see what the Landing Pad is all about – offering great family fun in an entertaining environment. Come to play!
